We’ve been contacted by Sophie Ellis:

“A Television Production Company are developing a documentary on elective amputation. They are looking for people with compelling forward narratives – i.e. people looking at their options for elective amputation, to follow through the whole process from decision to surgery and rehabilitation.”
If you’re interested, please contact Sophie on: sophieeellis@yahoo.co.uk
This could be a great way of raising awareness of some of the many issues that confront not just elective but all amputees and could, therefore, possibly benefit all “unsung heroes”.
PS I’ve been asked if there are any hospitals that specialise in elective amputation and would appreciate advice on this?

Hi I’m 41 years old and looking to start the process, I’m looking at either amputation or ankle replacement but feel amputation is probably best for me. I’m currently waiting an appointment after being referred for both.
